Edith Cowan Uni develops a new online way for ordinary people to track bushfires.

Researchers at Edith Cowan University, in collaboration with map service Landgate, have created a new, user friendly website MyFireWatch.

The aim of the website is to provide near-real time information on the movement and development of bushfires, particularly for those living in rural and remote communities.

The website also allows ordinary citizens to better plan ahead and stay prepared for safe evacuation to certain areas in the event of a fire.
