In partnership with science and industry leaders, University of Newcastle has developed GRANEX®, an exciting and innovative new technology designed to help bring low cost, zero emission electricity to remote communities around Australia and eventually the world.
The low maintenance GRANEX® system also has implications for improving overall productivity, efficiency and commercial competitiveness of electricity production, as well as reducing the reliance of remote communities on diesel. The patented system has already been exported to Asia, Latin America and the USA, supporting our economy.
Perhaps most importantly, the successful transformation of GRANEX® from a lab-developed concept into a patented commercial technology demonstrates the importance of proper funding of university innovation to help solve industry and environmental challenges.
