Newcastle Uni researchers think robots need love too.

Researchers at Newcastle Uni have moved a step closer to creating more human-like ‘companion robots’ which can connect with people based on shared emotional and environmental experiences.

The robots are able to pick up and interpret various cues from their surrounds, such as colours and facial expressions and react and relate accordingly. The technology has exciting implications for aged care and hospital workers, as robots such as these could assist with the health and emotional care of the elderly.
